Safe Routes to Schools

Oldham MBC

New Deals for Communities

A collection of signs and thermo plastic floor markings, designed with pupils at Broadfield Primary School Oldham.

The area is well know locally for Honeywell Lane, named after the market garden that developed around the sweet spring water that came down from the surrounding hills and the bees that this attracted.

In workshops we looked at ways of encouraging pupils to walk to school and came up with slogans and illustrations based on bees.

"Busy Bees Use Their Knees"

"Bee seen Bee Safe".

We had a lot of fun creating the designs for the signs and the thermo plastic markings which are a source of delight for the local residents.

This was part of a wider project in Oldham.
